Funeral Services for Shawnda Blondie Michelle Meeks Parker will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ken Campbell officiating. Internment will follow at Woodford Cemetery.
Steve and Sandra Milson Meeks were blessed with an adventurous baby girl on June 13, 1967 in Ardmore, Ok. Shawnda passed from this life on March 11, 2009 in Oklahoma City. She loved ranch life, especially riding horses, caring for animals and fishing. She never let her dad take a step she didn't attempt to take. She worked for Fitzgerald Ranch with her father, brothers, and other hands from 1985 to 1995. They all have wonderful memories of family ranch life. Shawnda attended Graham Elementary School and then continued school at Springer Middle School and High School. Shawnda married Rodney Parker in 1982 and continued her life on the ranch. In the late 90's, Ms. Parker was employed at Spade Racing Stables where she continue to care for animals. She was preceded in death by a daughter Ratosha LaShell Parker, mother Sandra Meeks, her grandparents Trig and Lenora Meeks and Lester and Maragaret Milson.
She is survived by her father Steve Meeks of Springer, sister Kody and Robert Pletcher of Springer, brothers Jason and June Hair of Davis and Denny and Kristy Meeks of Springer, uncle Pinky Meeks of Overbrook, aunt Sheila and Jim South of Woodford, nieces and nephews Cassie Yvonne Pletcher, Sandra Joan Pletcher, Emma Jo Meeks, Clancy Shayne Meeks, and Matt Doyal and Chantry Lee Hair, special friends Krissy Brown of Hennypenn and Juanda Walker of Woodford, a special cousin Lisa Milson and along with many other loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Chantry Hair, Matt Hair, Pinky Meeks, Randall Bolding, Stacy McDaniel and Jimmy South. Honorary bearers will be Harley Norman, Carl Stewart, Cody Norman, Vaughan Brown, Johnny Johnston and Justin Johnston.
