Life Legacy


Funeral services for Opal Imogene Dodge, 101 are scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Custar officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Opal was born March 28, 1911 in Greenwood, Tx. to Charlie and Eunice Madden Wallace. She passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father with her family by her side July 15, 2012. She and David Ottis Dodge were married March 28, 1929 in Slidel, TX. Opal was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and worked as a Sales Clerk for J.C. Penney, Kleins Ladies Wear and Daube’s Department Store.
She is survived by one son Bobby Dave Dodge of Ardmore, two grandsons, Terry Lynn Dodge and his wife Loretta of Ardmore, Mark Allan Dodge and his wife Carla of Elmore City, Ok., Step Grandson, Blant N. Miller and his wife Cindy of George West, Tx., Sister in Law Ann Wallace of Fort Worth, Tx. Great Grandchildren Heather Owens, Casey Dodge, Chris Dodge, Step great Grandchildren Marcus Miller and Morgan Miller. She is also survived by 4 great great grandchildren, Makinzi, Kaleb, Caden and Kylen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David O. Dodge in 1996, three brothers and a great grandson Jeremy Dodge in 2008.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Mark Cunningham, Darin Butler, Kevin Russell, Phil Atkinson, Greg DeBerry and Kenneth French.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Cross Timbers Hospice.
Memorials can be left to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 307 4th Ave S.E. Ardmore or Cross Timbers Hospice 207 “C” Street N.W. Ardmore.
