Obituary

Funeral services for Betty Ann Gilliam are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, May 23, 2022, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will hold a visitation on Sunday evening May 22, 2022, from 4:00-5:00 pm at Craddock Funeral Home.

Betty Ann Gilliam was Born April 8, 1929, in Ada, Ok. to James Thompson and Edith Rinard Thompson.  She passed this life on May 19th , 2022, in Ardmore.

Betty received her bachelor's degree from East Central University.

She and Hershel Gilliam were married on September 30, 1949, in Ada, Ok.

Betty deeply loved her family, church and friends.  She taught in the Ardmore school system for 22 years, at Charles Evans, Will Rogers and Franklin Schools.  She mostly taught 4 th grade and Music classes.

Other than her church and school, she was involved with Civic Chorus, Philharmonic and music club.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Chan Brewster, Phillip Todd, Rodney Mills, James Chambers, Jim Holloway and Rick Orr.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Ronnie Tipps.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edith Thompson; three brothers, John, Richard, and Charles Thompson; her husband Hershal.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ann Hines and her husband, Ron of Maryville, TN; son, Chris J. Gilliam of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 grandsons, Dr. Jarrod Hines of Eau Claire, WI and James Hines of Charlotte, NC.
