Obituary

A memorial service for Billie Dean Cornish is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021, in the Craddock
Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bradford Buchanon officiating. Interment of the ashes will follow on Sunday, July 11th in McAlester Cemetery by the family. Billy Dean Cornish was born on March 26, 1931, in Pearsall, TX to William Ola and Stella Mae (Rudd) Alkire. She passed this life on June 19, 2021, at her residence in Dickson. She was retired from Walmart after 26 years of service in retail sales.

She and Billy Earl Cornish were married on Dec. 22, 1948, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death in
1992. After she and Billy Earl were married, they lived in 4 different states, Oklahoma, North Dakota,
Louisiana, and Kansas. Billie was a very busy mom when her kids were young and active. She served as a Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout den mother, seamstress, and sewed all her children's clothes, prom dresses, and wedding
dresses. She enjoyed going to church, where she was a member of the Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed reading and working on word search, crossword, and jigsaw puzzles and she mostly watched the CBS TV network. She honestly enjoyed doing laundry and cleaning the house. She was a collector of many things. Some would say she was an organized hoarder. She enjoyed watching basketball and golf.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Burton of North Richland Hills, TX; son, Robert Cornish of Mineral
Wells, TX; daughter, Becky Ryan and husband, Michal of Diamond Head, MS; daughter, Stella Oxford
and her husband, Brent of Ardmore; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents;husband, Billy Earl;and siblings, Grace Alkire, Doris Bosley,
Richard Alkire, Terry Alkire; sister-in-Law, Marie Cornish and many special family members and friends.

Her grandsons and granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
