Billy Dale Mobley, Sr. was born February 10, 1949, to Willa Grace Mathis and Billy Alfred Mobley in McAlester, OK. He passed from this life on June 23, 2022, at the age of 73, to join his beloved wife, Mona Jean Mobley.
Bill attended Midwest City High School. He then enlisted with the United States Army on July 22, 1966, where he proudly served for 3 years and was "Honorably" discharged on March 19, 1969. He served 1 tour of duty (12 months) in Vietnam with the 2nd Battalion 31st Arty, Fourth U.S. Army. His MOS (Job) was a Wireman and Artillery. Commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with bronze service star, Expert Rifle Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with DEV-60, and Republic of Vietnam Service Medal. Bill served in Vietnam primarily as an Artilleryman in Forward Operating Firebases. On December 10, 1971, Bill married Mona Jean Harris in Oklahoma City. From this marriage, they had three children, Beverly, Billy, Jr., and Michael. Bill began working for Diebold, Inc. in 1978, where he stayed until his retirement in 1997. He then moved to Shawnee, OK. From Shawnee, he relocated to Ardmore, OK, where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Bill loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much. He enjoyed working on mechanical systems and engines. He would also watch Old Westerns and John Wayne movies in his free time. Bill loved Elvis "The King" and listening to the Oldies. He was an avid golfer and played as often as he could.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Alfred Mobley and Willa Grace Lynn; wife, Mona Jean Mobley; and son Michael Allen Mobley.
He is survived by his daughter Beverly Hicks and her husband Keith of Midwest City, OK; son Billy Dale Mobley, Jr. of Madill, OK; daughter-in-law Lesslie Mobley of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Monique Harper and her husband Dustin of Mustang, OK, Mark Nelson, Jr. and his partner Cheyenne Shelton of Moore, OK, Miles Nelson of Midwest City, OK, Brandon Mobley of Edmond, OK, Monica Warrick and her husband Will of Edmond, OK, and Khloe Mobley of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandchildren Keili, Rosie, Isabella, Brady, Keenyn, and Maverick.; brother Gary Mobley of Oahu, Hawaii, Danny Mobley of Ft. Worth, TX; sister Deborah Jager of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and his beloved pet Milo Mobley of Madill, OK.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 30 th at 10:00 a.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Joel Roach officiating. Interment will follow at Blanchard Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 30 th, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
Brandon Mobley, Mark Nelson, Will Warrick, Keith Hicks, Bill Mobley, Jr., and Dustin Harper will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Mobley and Danny Mobley.
