Buddy Bellamy
Funeral services for Buddy Bellamy will be Saturday, April 13, 2019, 11:00 AM, at Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Keck officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Buddy was born March 4, 1934, at Durant, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Mary Effie (McBee) Bellamy. He went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2019, in Ardmore, at the age of 85.
He met Ruth Brown on a blind date and they married on June 16, 1953. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year. He loved his family (especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren), the Lord and studying his Bible. Buddy was a leader in Boys' Brigade, one of the highlights of his life. He and a friend brought the World Horseshoe Pitching Championship to Ardmore in 2007. He also loved fishing.
He was a career computer professional, starting as a software programmer before becoming the Director of Data Processing for the Dallas Police Department. Later, he started his own business specializing in computer systems for law enforcement.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mary; daughter Stacy Bellamy; brother A.J. Bellamy; sisters Loredda Hunnicutt, Evelyn Savage and "Snookie" Watson.
He is survived by his wife Ruth of the home; daughters Terry Kemp (Karl) of Batesville, AR, and Cindy Bellamy of Ardmore; sisters JoAnn Wesberry of Weatherford, TX, and Wanda McWilliams of Denison, TX; grandchildren Josh Kemp (Tanya), Seth Kemp (Jinger), Jesse Kemp, Michael Kemp (Ashley), Alyssa Kieschnick (Derek), Carly Jones (Kyle) and Shaun McKee; and great-grandchildren Noah Kemp, Lily Kemp, Cora Kemp, Hazel Kemp, Hudson Jones, Ellie Jones, and another Jones on the way. Pallbearers will be Karl Kemp, Josh Kemp, Seth Kemp, Jesse Kemp, Michael Kemp, Shaun McKee and Kyle Jones.
