Obituary

Carla Jackson, age 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and true friend to all who knew her.

Carla accepted Christ as her Savior when she was just nine years old. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she faithfully shared that faith with others. She loved teaching and spent many years teaching first-grade children at church, taking great joy in helping young children learn and grow.

Carla married her beloved husband, Gale Lee Jackson, on July 2, 1960, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They had met 70 years ago and married four years later. They were inseparable and remained happily married throughout their lives, sharing a deep love and devotion to one another.

Carla lived in the Ardmore area for most of her life. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for 23 years. Cooking and sewing for her family and friends were her two favorite things to do. She found great joy in caring for the people she loved and giving of her time and talents.Carla leaves behind her beloved husband of 66 years, Gale Lee Jackson, with whom she shared a beautiful life and a love that endured through the years. They made their home in Ardmore for most of their married life, building a lifetime of memories together. For the past seven years, Carla and Gale made their home in Holland, Michigan, where they continued to enjoy life together and spend time with family.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Fran and Randy Growall of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and her son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Stacey Jackson of Holland, Michigan.

Carla was blessed with thirteen grandchildren, including Kassidi and Alex Coleman of Oklahoma; Lauren and Simon Hallett of Guernsey, United Kingdom; Nickolas Growall and Isaac Growall of Oklahoma; Sarah and Marcus Evans of Oklahoma; Bobby Jackson of Texas; Melissa and Aaron Wilkins of Texas; Joshua and Mandy Jackson of Michigan; Jacob Jackson of Michigan; Jonah and Leah Jackson of Illinois; Mallory Jackson of Michigan; and Anna Jackson of Michigan. She was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy and many precious memories.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Frances Burnett; her brother, Virgil Edwin Burnett; and her grandparents, Virgil and Lila Mae (Holt) Thompson of Marietta, and Henry David and Effie Mae (Clark) Burnett of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 3:00p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
