Obituary

Carles Randall "Randy" McWright was born November 25, 1951 to Helen Juanita (Smith) and Carles Manley McWright in Winters, TX. He passed from this life on December 9, 2020 at the age of 69 from the devastating effects from COVID.

Randy was a graduate from Abilene High School in the class of 1970. Upon graduation he enrolled at San Angelo State University for a short period of time. Randy was a highly intelligent individual, but academic life was not for him.  His life's passion was the outdoors in a "Cowboy Way of Life."  Randy began working numerous jobs including truck driving, cattle truck ownership, a Land Man for right of way acquisition. but his final years were spent developing his beloved ranch, Pinto in Loco Oklahoma.

As a young child, Randy made a profession of faith in the Baptist church and was baptized into that faith.  Randy felt a person didn't need to be in church to be with God.  He found God in the great outdoors.

In his free time he enjoyed fishing, dove hunting, and being around friends and family. He also loved working cattle, tripping steers, and team roping.

Randy had a vibrant personality.  He was always in the center of a group telling another story. He had an awesome sense of humor and easily made friends wherever he was.  Randy was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Carles and Helen McWright Raper; an infant sister Carlene McWright; grandparents Fay and Glen Williamson; nephews Douglas McWright and Shawn Halfmann; and Brothers-in-law Jimmy Smith and Steven Halfmann.

He is survived by his daughters Jamie McWright, Julie McWright, Idie Karr, Kevi McWright, and Kenzi McWright; son Dexter Polley; brothers Donald McWright and Johnny McWright; sisters Darlene Smith and Dr. Sherry Halfmann; grandchildren Quaid and Kannon Karr; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Also surviving is his friend Berenda McWright, the mother of Idie, Dexter, Kevi and Kenzi.
