Obituary

Carroll Brown Hendershott was born February 20, 1932, to Mary May (Casto) and Lewis Wesley Hendershot in Ravenswood, WV. He passed from this life in the comfort of his home on June 25, 2018, at the age of 86.

Carroll was a graduate of Ravenswood High School. Upon graduation, he moved to Beaver Falls, PA and worked for Babcock and Wilcox Steel. After spending one year in Beaver Falls, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Carroll was transferred to the Ardmore Air Force Base where he met the love of his life, Patty Huston. They married on August 11, 1956, in Ardmore and enjoyed 61 years together. After Carroll's military service he returned to Beaver Falls, PA. In 1961 they returned to Ardmore and became members of the First Baptist Church where Carroll served as a deacon and taught the teenage Sunday School class. He joined Mr. Huston at Arbuckle Supply where he retired as owner and operator. In 1982 he was appointed to the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center's school board where he served 14 years. Carroll's youth in West Virginia left him with a love of hard work, animals, and the outdoors. He raised, trained, and competed with his prized "field trial" beagles. He truly enjoyed his cattle, and they enjoyed him in return. Carroll 'knew well the condition of his …herd' (Proverbs 27: 23).  He impacted so many lives and will be lovingly remembered.

Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Mary May and Lewis Wesley Hendershot; sister Sybil Hall and her husband Howard; infant great-grandchild Raynie Suzanne Paul.
