Funeral services for Charles Norbey Burnam will be at 10:00 am Friday July 14, 2023, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Gary Gunsolus officiating and Eythan Tibbs assisting. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore, Oklahoma with Collin Adamo, Cash Burnam, Rylee Marshall, Mike Medcalf, Chad Burnam and Levi Burnam serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Adamo, Connor Burnam, Johnny Davis, Larry Lawson, Tyler Burnam, Jim Matlack and Max Martin. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Craddock Funeral Home.
Charles was born July 18, 1947, in Waurika, Oklahoma to Charles James and Margie Louise (Plant) Burnam and died Tuesday July 11, 2023, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 24 days. Charles was a 1965 graduate of Ardmore High School. After graduation he attended college for a period of time. He married Deatra Carol Davis on June 14, 1968 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He served his country proudly, from May 15, 1967, until November 20, 1987, in the Army National Guard of Oklahoma. His last duty assignment was as Dining Facility Manager for the 1345th Transportation Company in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was of Choctaw heritage and a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He was a member of the Criner Hills Volunteer Fire Department and the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association. He spent 43 years working for Lumberman's Millworks. He was also the owner/operator of Triple BBB Construction Company and V (V Bar) Farm and was a member of The SHED at Provence Church.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley Burnam. He is survived by his wife Deatra Burnam of Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughter, Charla Adamo and her husband Steve of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Kevin Burnam and his wife Melissa of Ardmore, Oklahoma; brother, Ricky Burnam of Ardmore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Landon Adamo, Collin Adamo, Cash Burnam, Rylee Marshall, Conner Burnam and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
