Charles "Choc" Gunter, 78, of Ardmore, OK., passed away at his residence on December 16, 2023. Choc was born July 7, 1945 to Roland Gunter and Pearl Smith in Filmore, California.

Mr. Gunter was a determined individual who could accomplish anything he set his mind to. Choc proudly served in the National Guard for 4 years. Later, he married the love of his life, Wilma Jean Peoples Gunter. He then went into business with his father-in-law Oran Peoples. He was co-owner of Peoples & Gunter Water Well Drilling in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

In his leisure time, he loved working on hot rods and supporting his son's motocross endeavors, taking the family on vacations, camping, and trips around the U.S.

Choc was survived by his daughter, Rhonda J. Gunter of Marietta, OK.; son, Raun Dewayne Gunter of Ardmore, OK.; wife of 13 years, Marie Smith of the home. He had three loving grandsons, Tyler D. Peoples, Devon Gunter, and Nicholas Weldon; two great grandsons both of Ardmore, OK.; sister, Judy Grider of Ardmore, OK.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Choc was proceeded in death by his parents, Roland and Pearl Gunter; wife, Wilma Jean Gunter; grandson, Dawson K. Gunter; brothers, Dilbert Gunter, Gordon "Butch" Gunter; sisters, Billie Brett, Pearline Sadler, La Vera Pace, Bobbie Walker, and Sandra Crump.

Choc will be missed by many friends and family. Services are pending at this time.
