Obituary

Graveside services for Charlie Miller are scheduled for Tuesday, December 17th at 2:00 p.m. at McAlister Cemetery in Overbrook, OK. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Charles Elvertt Miller was born July 14, 1952 to Ethel Bert (Locklear) and Hollis James Miller in Laurinburg, NC. He passed from this life on December 13, 2024 at the age of 72 in Ardmore, OK.

Charlie was a graduate of Ardmore High School in the class of 1970.  After the loss of his father Hollis in 1974, he continued on the family business of Miller Moving & Storage. He remained in business for 43 years but was also an entrepreneur discovering new ways of making money including ventures in buying/selling property.

Known to many as "A Good Time Charlie", he always enjoyed sharing a beer with friends, telling old stories and making people laugh. From excelling in high school baseball as a pitcher with a 100mph fastball to bull riding, there was never an adventure too wild.  He even ventured into exotic animals when he bought a black bear cub that his kids released in the Blue Bonnet Feed Store resulting in quite a disaster and another time with a spitting llama.   Needless to say he was no Joe Exotic, none of the animals ended up turning into house pets and were sold shortly thereafter. Throughout all the years one thing that never changed was his passion for horse racing. He raised & raced quarter horses and engaged in a little brush track gambling here and there. He never missed seeing a showing of Gunsmoke and was John Wayne's biggest fan. He always loved watching football and in recent years was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Hollis and Ethel Miller.

He is survived by his sons Shawn Miller and his wife Courtney, Casey Miller and his wife Brooke, and Matt Miller and his wife Emily; grandchildren Tanner Miller, Carson Miller, Harper Miller, Lilah Miller, Doss Miller, and Waylon Miller; sister Roseann Frasier and her husband Dal; nephews Brian Frasier, Jimmy Frasier, Jamey Frasier and Eric Frasier.
