A memorial service for Charlotte Turman will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00am at the Craddock Memorial Chapel.

Charlotte Turman was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on November 1, 1944, to Bill Anthony and Vadys Roberta (Carroll) Anthony.  She had two sisters: Judy and Billye Jean and four brothers: Jerry Dale, James, Jody and Milton Anthony. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers:  Jerry Dale and James, sister: Billye Jean and her husband, O.C. Turman.  She is survived by her brothers, Jody, Milton and her sister, Judy.

Charlotte married O.C. Turman on July 14, 1962, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  They had two children, Oscar and Crystal.  She and O.C. were married 42 years until he passed away in 2004.

Charlotte had nine grandchildren, Oscar, Taylor, Wayne, Elisabeth, Christopher, Brianna, Haydn, Dusty, Audra Jane, and eleven great grandchildren.

Charlotte had an extraordinary sense of humor and at any given moment you might look up and she would have a giant red clown nose on or some thick black frame glasses with a giant nose and thick eyebrows. There was never any way to tell what she might do next to keep the spirits up of those she loved. She also had a winning smile that could radiate kindness through and entire room.  She was a great role model and mentor that gave you the feeling that she genuinely believed in you, even if you didn't believe in yourself.  She was kind to all people and would support you in any way that she could.  She had extensive experience with the ups and downs that everyday life brings and with that she had a well full of wisdom that she could draw from and didn't mind sharing that knowledge, strength and hope to anyone in need.  She was a loyal wife, dedicated mother and a faithful believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her friends and children and held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved spending time with friends and family at Lake Murray…sunbathing, skiing, boating and cooking out.  Spending time at the lake during the holidays, like Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day was very meaningful to her as was Easter at Dukes Forest. Thanksgiving with her family was so special to her and everything it represented, but Christmas was the most special time of year to her.  Because of her, the magic of Christmas will live through eternity, through the minds and souls of those that she held close to her during the Christmas Season.

Charlotte will surely be remembered as a true Proverbs, Chapter 31 woman.  Here are a few verses from Proverbs 31.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? Her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband does safely trust in her, that he shall not have no need of spoil.  She shall do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea she reacheth

forth her hands to the needy.  She opens her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household and eats not the bread of idleness. Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain; but a woman that fears the Lord shall be praised."
