Cheri Lyn Burks was born September 14, 1962 to Eleanor (Stemp) and Bruce Montfort in Redford Township, Michigan. She passed from this life on August 20, 2025 at the age of 62.

Cheri was a graduate of Alba High School in the Class of 1981. She married Dennis "Paul" Burks on May 12, 1990. They moved to Ardmore in 2001 and became members of the First Methodist Church.

Cheri loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed taking adventures outdoors including camping, riding motorcycles, boating, and traveling.

Cheri was preceded in death by her mother Eleanor Montfort.

She is survived by her husband Paul Burks; daughter Lacey Brown and her husband Dalton; sisters Susann Mousseau and her husband John and Christine Tanner; grandchildren Kristina Burks, Bradley Sutton, Ryker Zimmeran, and Jozzlyn Burks; father Bruce Montfort; nephews Bruce Tipton, Michael Tipton, and Steven Bechtol.
