Claudia Lou Allen Mathews

Services for Claudia Lou Allen Mathews, 82, of Ardmore will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Craddock Memorial Chapel in Ardmore, OK with Rev. Bruce Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Lone Grove Cemetery (old). A night visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Claudia was born on November 9, 1936 at Brock, OK, to Claud Allen and Goldie (Parker) Allen. She passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her home in Ardmore.

Claudia and Paul Mathews were married September 27, 1968 in Ardmore, OK. They lived most of their married life in Tulsa, OK before returning to Ardmore in 2003. She graduated from Dickson High School in 1956, and worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Human Services for 34 years.

She enjoyed reading and working in her yard and tending to her flowers and roses, when her health permitted. She was an active member of Southwest Baptist Church where she taught a Ladies Sunday School Class.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Goldie Allen: husband, Paul Mathews: brother, Ronald Allen: sister, Barbara Gentry: step-grandson, Danny Lloyd Hobbs, Jr.: step-granddaughter, Penelope Kirby: step-son-in-law, Harry Kirby.

She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Kirby and Midene Reynolds and her husband, Michael: niece, Cindy Gentry: nephew, David Gentry, Donald Allen and Howard Allen and his wife, Rhonda: great nieces, Jessica Coop and husband, Josh, Kayla Pullen and Kaitlyn Pullen: great nephews, Jerrod Gentry, Jordan Gentry and Kyotte Allen: great-great nephew, Dakota Coop: step-granddaughter, Reagan Martell and husband, Mike: great-granddaughters, Sophie and Laurel.

Pallbearers will be Michael Reynolds, David Gentry, Donald Allen, Howard Allen, Jerrod Gentry and Jordan Gentry. Honorary pallbearers are Kyotte Allen, Dakota Coop and Steve Watson.
