Francis "Dale" Remington was born June 25, 1949 to Doris Dale (Beard) and Francis Melvin Remington in Oklahoma City, OK. He passed from this life on April 30, 2025 at the age of 75.

Dale was raised in Oklahoma City and a graduate of Northwest Classen High School in the class of 1967. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1971. On August 29, 1969 Dale married Peggy Dooley in Cushing, OK. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving as an Airman at the USCG Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas.  He spent his career in the oil and gas industry working as a production supervisor for Mobil Oil for 22 years in several locations in Texas, Sumatra Indonesia and Colorado and later worked for Florida Gas Transmission in Texas and Florida. They made their home in Ardmore, OK upon retirement.  He had a lawn mowing and brush hogging business for ten years.  He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church serving as a trustee and elder and was a faithful member of the choir. Dale enjoyed volunteering at Mercy Hospital and the Food Resource Center.  He was a Master Gardener and loved to grow fruits and vegetables and especially enjoyed sharing his bounties with neighbors and friends.

Dale enjoyed spending time outdoors. He cherished the time he could spend hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He also liked to play golf and was a skilled woodworker.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Doris Dale and Francis Melvin Remington and his brother and sister in law Don and Jill Remington.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of the home; sons Michael Remington and his wife Allison of Haslet, TX and Matthew Remington and his wife Samantha of Decatur, TX; grandchildren Reece, Saige, Mason, and Emery; sister Thyra Lombard of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore with Rev. Mary Ellen Waychoff and Dr. Rick Baggett officiating. Interment will follow at the Seaman First Class Billy Turner State Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Nephews, Carl Remington, Ed Lombard, David Lombard, Mark Lombard and grandsons Reece Remington and Mason Remington will serve as pallbearers.
