Funeral services for Dana Kay Trueblood are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Kevin Ratterman officiating. Interment will follow in Crinerville cemetery. The family will host a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6-7.

Born March 31, 1946, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Robert and Chiquita "Skeet" Godfrey Blankenship, she made the journey to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Norman Regional Hospital, with her family and friends beside her.

She began her childhood education at Plainview Public Schools in Ardmore where she graduated with the Class of 1964. Upon graduation, she attended Murray State College in Tishomingo where she met her husband of 47 years, Christopher Michael Trueblood. They were married in June of 1965.

For the next few years, Dana was a wife, mother, and a homemaker and later returned to complete her education, after her two daughters were school-age, at Grayson County College in Sherman, Texas, and later received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. She began her teaching career in August of 1976 at Willow Springs Elementary School in Pottsboro, Texas. The family moved to Lone Grove, Oklahoma, in the summer of 1979. There she taught elementary education until her retirement in 2006. After retirement, she obtained her license to sell real estate and worked for many years as a realtor for the Barry Ross Group.

She enjoyed every facet of life, from being a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially loved working in her yard and flower gardens, keeping her home spotlessly clean, but most importantly, attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's many activities and sporting events.

She has been described by many close friends as …

"She always had a smile on her face, and her happiness was contagious. She always spoke to me and showed a genuine interest in me,"

"I probably had the best time in 5th grade at Lone Grove, and having Mrs. Trueblood just made it that much better! She was so much fun, always had a laugh and a smile."

"I'm just so grateful that your parents were such a big part of my life. Both were very generous and patient with me at a time when I was a clueless (and helpless) teenage boy."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Michael Trueblood; a grandson, Landry Michael Swanson; her parents, Robert and Chiquita "Skeet" Blankenship, in-laws, Sequoyah Euvaughn Trueblood and Amy Mills Tucker; and brother-in-law, Billy R. Beane.

She is survived by her two daughters, Robin Dillon, Ringling, and Christi Swanson and husband, Lance, Ardmore; four grandchildren, Logan King and husband, Keaten, Jackson Dillon, and Carter and Cal Swanson; two great-grandaughters, Charley Kay King and Georgia Ivy King, one great-grandson, Rush Alexander King; one sister, Sharon Beane; and two brothers-in-law, Sequoyah E. Trueblood, Canada, and Tommy R. Trueblood, Kaw City, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Jackson Dillon, Carter Swanson, and Cal Swanson; nephews,Brad Beane and Ricky Beane; and grandson-in-law Keaten King.
