Memorial services for Doris Crandall are scheduled for Saturday, 10:00 am, September 21, 2024 in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kira Calhoun-Wilson officiating.  The family will host a visitation on Friday from 6-7 at the funeral home.

Doris Anita Reed Crandall was born to Vernon and Thelma Stiles Reed on April 29, 1933, born on her fathers 25 birthday, at Mountain Top, Arkansas. She passed this life on September 16, 2024, in Sherman, Tx.

Doris Graduated from high school at Ozark, AR and attended Fort Smith Junior college while working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. In 1953, she entered College of the Ozarks at Clarksville, AR, where she and Warren Adams were married in 1954.  They moved to Flint Michigan and taught school for two years before returning to Arkansas to finish their college degrees in 1958. She held other teaching positions in Arkansas, California and four different Oklahoma towns, all while rearing four children and obtaining a master's degree in 1969 from OSU. Her marriage to Warren ended in 1974, and she married W.C. "Bill" Crandall in 1979. From that union she gained two stepchildren.

The last 15 years of her professional career, she worked as a psychometrist with the state department of Education. After retiring in 1990, she pursued a lifelong interest in Visual Arts and enjoyed traveling with Bill.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Mattie Bruce Chapter of the Eastern Star, Ardmore Art Guild, Carter County retired Educators, Triangle Home and Community Education, and National and local chapters of AARP.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on August 16, 2017, her parents and brother, Ronald Keith Reed, Seattle Washington. She is survived by three sons; Lynn Adams and his wife, Brenda, Poteau, Ok, Keith Adams and wife Susan, Oxnard, Ca., Eric Adams and his wife Tracy of Van Buren, AR, one Daughter; Alicia James and her husband Jamie of Ardmore; two stepchildren; David Crandall and wife Margie of Pittsburgh, PA, and Ann Davidson, Oklahoma City, Ok., 12 grandchildren and eight great grand.
