Dorothy (Black) Hudson was born April 13, 1930 in Lexington, OK to Valentine (Center) and Murray Black. She passed from this life on April 6, 2024 at the age of 94.
Dorothy was a graduate of Lexington High School in the class of 1948. Upon graduation she attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. After attending Oklahoma University she worked for Southwestern Bell for many years. In 1985 she moved to Ardmore and joined St Philips Episcopal Church. Dorothy served many years on the Alter Guild and Luncheon Committee of the Church and quickly became a large supporter of Oak Hall School. She was a member of Ladies of the Leaf and Athenaeum Study Club charming the members with her wonderful Book Reviews. She loved to travel with friends, watch all professional sports and playing Mahjongg was her favorite pastime. She married Browing Hudson on July 18, 1990.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Valentine and Murray Black; husband Browning Hudson; and sister Lorene McConnell.
She is survived by her cousin Julian Center. Dorothy chose to be a part of the Yeager Family who certainly welcomed her. Through her almost 40 years of friendship she became an active part of their lives with special occasions and Holidays.
A private graveside will take place at Rosehill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be sent to Oak Hall Episcopal School.
