Doug went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 29, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family, at the age of 82. Doug was born on June 25, 1942, to Fred and Stoney Rudd in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of nine children. He attended Plainview Schools, graduating in 1960.

Growing up, Doug enjoyed all sports, but especially basketball. His love of basketball landed him at Murray State College, where he played in 1961. Doug was passionate about many things, including harassing friends and raising cattle. However, he was most passionate about his family. There were no limits to the lengths he would go for his family. He met the love of his life, and after three months of courtship, he married Lynn Paschall in 1962. The short courtship led to an amazing family of five and a 62-year-long marriage. He loved the farm, whether it be riding his four-wheeled horse to check cattle or tackling tasks that allowed him to spend additional time out in the pasture. In his later years, with his health declining, Doug would throw caution and his own well-being to the wind to be outside with his cattle.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Stoney Rudd; his siblings, Wayne Rudd, Barbara Hatley, Roxey Wilson, Harold Rudd, Jim Rudd, Shirley Flowers, and Jean Parker. He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Lynn Rudd; his sister, Lou Thurman of Ardmore; son, Darren Rudd and his wife Audra Johnson of Ardmore; son, Blake Rudd, and his wife Jennifer Rudd of Ardmore; daughter, Amber Russ and her husband Ken Russ of Ardmore. Doug also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Taylor Williamson and her husband Drew Williamson, Mattie Wright and her husband Nolan, Mollie Riley, Eli Russ, Colton Rudd, and Kaylee Rudd. His great-grandchildren: Stoni Dru Williamson and Wyatt Williamson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
