Funeral services for Dustin "Todd" Kitchens will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday February 12, 2024, at the New Hope Church of God with Reverend Robert Peterson officiating and burial will follow at the Hilcrest Memorial Park with Robbie Peterson, Garrett Young, Jesse Hickman, Keith Martinez, Clay McKinney, and Brandon Hodges serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the crews from Valero and Michelin.

Dustin "Todd" Kitchens was born January 29, 1990, in Beaver, Oklahoma, 19 days past his due date. His late arrival was indicative of his laid-back, easy-going personality. Dustin passed from this life at the age of 35 years and 11 days on February 9, 2025, at OU Trauma Center in Oklahoma City, surrounded by loving friends and family.

Dustin attended elementary and middle school at Lone Grove and graduated from Marietta High School. He loved playing baseball and was a great pitcher. He worked for Michelin North America, and most recently was a refinery operator for Valero. Dustin's work ethic was unparalleled. He worked hard to provide well for and spoil his three girls. He was always willing to help a friend and enjoyed working with his friends on various projects. Dustin came to be known as "Todd" out of necessity. His cousins, Dustin, and Justin Flanagan, and he, the three amigos, were often together, and there were way too many "Ustin's," so Todd he became and will always be. Dustin was thrilled when his nieces were born, and he spoiled them lavishly. It was great practice for when his twins were born, premature and tiny. Immediately after their birth, Dustin jumped in and started changing diapers and caring for them every way possible, seemingly unfazed by their size. He was gentle and loving with them but also made sure they were tough and not too "girly." One of Dustin's best qualities was making the absolute best friends, as close as brothers and sisters. He was known as "Uncle Todd" to his friend's children. His circle of friends did life together. They spoke multiple times a day and saw each other every chance they got. Their conversations ended with, "I love you buddy." Dustin loved fishing, camping, boating, hunting, working out, golfing, and spending time in his side-by-side. There were lots of adventures (and a few misadventures) riding around Lake Murray, the Red River, and in the Kiamichi Mountains. Most of all, he loved spending time with his girls, and he made sure they experienced adventures together. Proverbs 17:17 says "A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need," and Proverbs 18:24 says "A real friend sticks closer than a brother." These verses exemplify the relationships with his friends, and we have witnessed so many examples of this over the past few days. Although we are devastated by his loss, we are truly blessed to know he did not suffer and is with Jesus, whole and complete. We know we will see him again.

Dustin is survived by his wife Amy and daughters Avery Jo and Sterling Marie, of the home in Ardmore, his mother, Tara Quinton of Edmond, sister Sara Paynter and nieces Bostyn and Sawyer Hodges of Edmond, grandparents Joe and Karen Sue Grose of Balko, aunt Tracey and uncle Clinton Ferguson of Texhoma, cousins Abigail and Josh Gordon, Jenny and David, of Garden City, Kansas, Trenton and Peyton Ferguson of Arnett, Bradley and Chasey Ferguson, of Elbert, Colorado, father and mother-in-law Robert and Paula Peterson of Norman, brother and sister-in-law Robbie and Robyn Peterson of Ardmore, grandmother-in-law Gail Gipson, of Ardmore, along with a host of extended family and friends. Dustin was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, LaVerne and Doris Davis, great uncle Jerry Davis, paternal grandparents, Eudie and Thelma Grose, great-aunt Alma Lynn Dollar, and grandfather-in-law Len Gipson.
