Funeral Services for Eddie Wesley Tedder Sr. will be at 2:00 pm Thursday December 12, 2024, at the Baum Assembly of God Church with Pastor Buck Buchanan officiating and burial will follow at the Provence Cemetery.

Eddie was born Monday February 12, 1940, in Ada, Oklahoma to Eddie Monroe and Susan Roxie (Farris) Tedder and died Friday December 6, 2024, in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 24 days.

Eddie attended Ada High School, in Ada Oklahoma and graduated in the class of 1957. He was very proud and honored that he played guard on the Ada Cougar football team on three State Champion winning years of 1955, 1956 and 1957. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart Billie Sandra Boydston on Sept 12, 1960 in Midwest city, Oklahoma. Eddie and Sandy then made their home in Ada, Oklahoma.

Eddie attended East Central University, in Ada Oklahoma where he completed his graduate degree in Industrial Arts and Education in 1966. In 1971 he earned his master's from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Several years later Eddie returned to college and obtained his School Administration Certificate in 1995 from East Central University.  In 1966, just three days after graduation from East Central University, Eddie began his teaching career at Mannsville School in Mannsville, Oklahoma. In 1969 he then began teaching at Dickson High School, in Ardmore, Oklahoma when the two schools consolidated. Eddie taught several different subjects during his teaching career including History, Civics, Woodshop, as well as Drivers Education. He was also a school bus driver and the Dickson Comets first football coach.

Eddie Tedder started the football program at Dickson High School and often spoke of the players and games in that first season. After making the uniforms by cutting stencils out of folders they spray painted the Dickson blue numbers on the white t-shirt, this first ever football team went undefeated with a 6-0 record at the end of the first season. One of his prize possessions is that game ball with these players signatures.  During Mr. Tedder's 42 years of teaching for Dickson, he taught thousands of students. Many families he had taught the grandparents and the parents and next generation. Eddie loved his students and became not only a teacher but a father figure, mentor, and friend. Mr Tedder's shop class door and home were always open for any student that wanted to stop by.  Mr. Tedder was also a volunteer firefighter in the Dickson fire department of over 25 years.

Eddie was always busy, in the summer breaks he would build custom sets of cabinets, remolded several churches, homes, and yes, he spent many summers replacing roofs on houses in the Dickson and Ardmore area.  On the weekends you would find Eddie on the deer lease hunting deer, ducks, turkeys and more, if he wasn't in a tree somewhere you would find him in a boat fishing and running juglines. On Sunday, you would find him in the pew at Baum Assembly of God church.

Husband, Dad, PaPa, great-Grandpa, Teacher, Mentor, Carpenter, Firefighter, Coach, Hunter, Fisherman, and God loving man. Eddie Tedder changed and touched thousands of lives in many ways, and left a legacy that will hold him in the thoughts and memories of everyone forever.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandy Tedder, brother, Richard Arlon Tedder, sister, Ruth O'Neal, and granddaughter, Abbie Tedder.

He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Gandy-Jones and husband Mike Jones, Brandy Tedder; sons Eddie W. Tedder and wife Marja Karin Tedder and Keith Forster and wife Debbie Forster; grandchildren Shyla Daniel, Jill Stopera, Shelby Daniel, Jessica Smith, Stephanie and Chad Stengle; Clint and Kate McConnell, Kyle and Kristin McConnell, Jessica and Jason Troutman, and Michael and Kara Jones; great grandchildren Abra and Ephraim Smith, Logan and Kaylee Stengle, Kelby Davis, Michaela and Hunter Jones, Kordell Troutman, Max McConnell, and Sam McConnell; lifelong friend John Forster.
