On Saturday, September 11th, 2021, Doris "Elaine" Newman (Hibbs-Smithart) passed away quietly in her sleep at Mercy Hospital. Elaine (as she preferred to be called) was born on July 29th, 1944 in Silverton, Texas, just south of Amarillo.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Smithart (59) of Ardmore, Toni Eddings (57) of Norman, Larry Smithart (52), Douglas Smithart (49) Kansas and Jack Hibbs, Jr. (40), 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Elaine is preceded in death by 2 ex-husbands, Howard Smithart and Jack Hibbs; a son, Michael; 1 grandchild.

She was a resident of Ardmore for 20+ years. She was an active member of the House of Prayer for 20 years, where she touched so many lives. There won't be a funeral since she has requested to be cremated. Craddock Funeral Home is handling the cremation.

A memorial service was held at her church, the House of Prayer, on Harris Street, Ardmore, Ok on Thursday afternoon. She will be missed by many.
