Funeral services for Elizabeth Newman are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church of Ardmore on Saturday November 23rd with Dr. David Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Anne Newman was born September 6, 1929 to Lillian (Draper) and Charles A. Gaylor in Dallas, Texas. She was a graduate of Ardmore High School in the class of 1947. Liz married Jay Newman on February 17, 1951 in Tocoma, Washington. From this marriage they had two children, James Michael and Mark. Liz was a member of the First Methodist church of Ardmore since 1933. She spent her career as a bookkeeper for G and G Music.

Liz was an avid golfer that spent as much time as she could on the golf course. She enjoyed needle point took great joy in helping raise her granddaughters.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents Charles A. and Lillian Gaylor; husband Jay Newman; brother James Gaylor; daughter-in-law Sue Newman; great granddaughter Jaylee Garland; and son Jay Michael Newman.

She is survived by her son Mark Newman and his wife JoBeth; brother Robert Gene Gaylor; grandchildren Hannah Newman, Grace Newman Barton, Dustin Pempsell, Hannah Rudd, Nikki Newman, Jaynie Newman Paff, and Laurie Newman; 6 great grandchildren; and nieces Jan Thompson and Andra Burton.

Cam Barten, Matthew Cohen, Dustin Pempsell, Justin Burton, Michael Rudd, and Jake Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
