Eric Robert Jones died on the 15th day of January, 2022, at his home in Ardmore.  Oklahoma.  Eric was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Dr. Robert E. Jones and Mickey Harper Jones.  As a child he was a devout Boy Scout, having earned all of his patches and appearing at the Worlds Fair in 1964.  Moved to Ardmore in the mid-1980's as a land man, but later decided to take the bar exam and entered the practice of law.

Eric was seen to be a brilliant lawyer by numerous judges he appeared before.  He was a credit to the Bar of attorneys and practiced law with impressive knowledge and integrity.  He is survived by his law partner and significant other, Betsy Clark, who was with him to the end and deeply loved him, his sister, Gretchen Jones Davis and her husband Tracy Davis, Eric's niece, Allie Schleiff and her husband Ben Schleiff, and a brother, Bryant Jones.  In addition to his family, Eric is survived by his beloved canine, Missy.

Eric Robert Jones was a proud member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Oklahoma having attained a Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 21, 1976.  Eric was a master chess player and practiced and competed in that difficult craft all over Oklahoma and Texas.  He was the Tulane chess champion four years in a row.

During the last days of his life, Eric was given superb care by Alara Hospice nurses and volunteers.
