Evelyn "Beth" Stone was born to Homer Wayte and Cleta Marie McKinney on June 27, 1929, in Ardmore, Ok; passed this life to Heaven on August 17, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Jack Edward Stone. Jack and Beth met at the Baptist Student Union while in school at Oklahoma A&M University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, when they were 19 years old and married six months later. Beth went on to finish her B.S. in education at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and her M.S. in Education at East Central Oklahoma State University in Ada, Oklahoma. She taught 2 nd & 3 rd grades for 33 years, 2`/2 in Duncan, Oklahoma, and the remainder in the Admore Oklahoma City school system. Beth was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and instilled that same faith in her children and grandchildren. She helped to shape the lives of many children during her 93 years, not only as a schoolteacher, mother, and grandmother but as a Sunday school teacher. She was dearly loved by all her family, most especially her husband, Jack. While her passing will leave a painful void in the lives of those who loved her, her legacy will live on in the lives and hearts of every life she touched. Beth is also survived by her son, Johnny Stone, her daughter, Jacque Telford and husband Pat Telford, her grandchildren, Jaime Hammer and husband Toby Hammer, Dustin Stone and wife Genna Stone, and Greatgrandchildren, Max Hammer, Evelyn Beth (Ellie), and Lulabelle Hammer and Evy and Lorelei Stone.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Max Hammer, Toby Hammer, Pat Telford, Kermit McKinney, Bill Coleman, and Dustin Stone.
Honorary pallbearers are Emmett Hudgins, Ken Chaffin, and Lee Piatt.
Funeral services for Evelyn Beth Stone are scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Ardmore, with Dr Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
