Gary Valson Swan, 82 of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 8 th , 2022. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 16 th , 2022, in Rose Hill Cemetery, with Dr. Randy Kendrix officiating. There will be a reception following at Holiday Inn, 2207 N. Rockford Road, Ardmore, Ok. 73401.
The only son of Alvis and Mildred Swan, Gary was the second child of three and was raised in Madill, Oklahoma. Gary married the love of his life on April 29, 1961, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and they remained together until her passing in 2018.
Gary had a long career of more than 25 years with Creole Production Services International that took him all over the world until his retirement in 2004.
Gary was dedicated and loyal to those close to him. He had a tough exterior but had the biggest heart when it came to his family. He sacrificed everything so that his wife and children could have the best. He worshiped his wife of 57 years more than life itself. He was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren even though not one of them went to OU. He cherished all the track meets, football games, and soccer games. He loved his son-in-law and his friend Jimmy. He looked forward to his day dates on Wednesdays with him. He was the most amazing husband, father, Papa, and "Old Pop" you could ask for. He will be forever in our hearts.
Serving as Pallbearers will be, Gary Swan, Perry Swan, Michael Swan, Jimmy Taff, Tyler Tackett, Zachary Batterton, Jacob Batterton, Kylor McKinley, JT Riley. Honorary pallbearer, Jeff Batterton.
Along with his parents, Alvis and Mildred Swan, Gary was also preceded in death by his sisters, Clydean Coker, Movita Price, and wife, Sandy.
He is survived by his daughters; Pamela Taff and husband Jimmy of Wichita Falls, Tx., Cheryl Batterton and husband Jeff of Owasso, Ok; Son, Gary Swan and fiancé Karen Carter, of Katy, Tx.; grandchildren, Bethany Tackett, Tyler Tackett, Caitin Taff, Morgan McKinley, Zachary Batterton, Jacob Batterton, Perry Swan, Ashley Riley, and Michael Swan. Great Grandchildren, Wyatt, Emmett, and Lydia Tackett, Garryk and Kierra Swan, Karley and Timberlee Riley, Krieden, Knealen, Kemorie, and Kawnien Swan. Nieces, Brenda McDonald and Linda Steele.
