George Doty was born on November 4, 1951, to Georgia Roxie and Odis Chester Doty in Comanche, OK. He passed from this life on January 18, 2025, at the age of 73.

George was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1970, where he excelled in football. At prom, he was introduced to the love of his life, JoLynn Lasley, whom he would later marry on May 26, 1973. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After proudly serving his country as an aircraft mechanic, George had the opportunity to learn HVAC, which became his career. George returned to Ardmore, OK, and became the Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration instructor at Southern Oklahoma Technology Center. During those early years at SOTC, George would spend his summers working his heating and air business. After retiring from SOTC, George could still be seen all over southern Oklahoma fixing anything from dishwashers to ice cream machines. George was a proud alum of Oklahoma State University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education.

George enjoyed singing in the choir, driving around the lake, and being outdoors. He was a talented repairman who could fix anything and spent most of his summers working on his boat. Much like his wife, George loved his grandkids and often had pictures they had drawn for him posted where he could see them daily.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Odis Chester Doty and Georgia Hester Doty, brother Odis Ray Doty, sisters Mary Elizabeth McNeme, Martha Ligon, and Louise Menser, and his wife, JoLynn Lasley Doty.

He is survived by his brother Roy Doty, son Garrett Doty, daughter Audra Doty, grandchildren Evin, Serenity, and Lucas, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Southwest Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery.
