Funeral Services for Gregory Lee DeBerry will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday February 21, 2024, at the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend David Gardner officiating and assisted by Dustin Gardner. Burial will follow at the Crinerville Cemetery with Mel Van Craighead, Terry Dodge, Kyle Van Craighead, John Cunningham, Rick Massey, and Brandon Martin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek, David Lynn, Brian, Brayden Gardner, Cooper DeBerry, Kyle, and Daniel York.

Gregory was born Sunday August 14, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Thomas Ray and Patsy Ann (Ellis) DeBerry and went to his Heavenly Home Friday February 16, 2024, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 2 days.

In 1963 the DeBerry family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma. He graduated with the Ardmore High School Class of 1973. As he put it "The Smartest Class Ever."  For a period, he worked at Jack's DX Station, Stromberg Carlson. Following in his dads, granddad, grandmother, and uncles' footsteps he began a 36-year career with Southwestern Bell/AT&T. He met the love of his life at a Lone Grove Basketball game. He and Renee Gardner began dating on February 2, 1975. They married on June 4, 1977, at the Lone Grove First Baptist Church. In 1982 they were blessed with their first son Justin Lee DeBerry and in 1987 another blessing came, Jason Thomas (J.T.) DeBerry. They were his world! Then he became Papa to Alice, Mary, Jack, Raphael, James, and a bonus daughter, MaKayla. With Jesus in his heart and grands in his life he was complete. Greg loved all sports, especially the OU Sooners and the Green Bay Packers. He was a collector (hoarder) of many things…coins, OU Memorabilia and old paper money, Greg was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church where he was known as "The Candy Man."  He served as an usher for many years.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Tom, and Patsy; brother, Dale DeBerry; grandparents, Nathan & Carrie York, William & Kathleen DeBerry and his stepdad, Don Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Renee DeBerry; sons, Justin DeBerry and his wife Nohemi of Enville, Oklahoma, Jason (J.T.) DeBerry and his wife Lindsey of Norman, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; Brothers and Sisters In Love, David & Terry Gardner, Ronnie & Judy Gardner of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews he loved like they were his own.
