Helen was raised in Ardmore and attended Ardmore Schools. She was a charter member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and New Hope Church of God. Being a Christian and attending church was a great part of her life. On July 7, 1951 she married Willard "Sug" West in Ardmore Oklahoma. They had three daughters Janice, Darla and Cheri.
Mother found the love of her life when she met Daddy. They were truly and deeply in love. When she lost him her life was never the same. With three girls to raise she quickly became Mother and Daddy. She was a born homemaker and loved cleaning, cooking and raising a family. She had several vocations, including, cooking for the school cafeteria and working retail at Christmas to buy presents for her girls. In the late 80's she received her CNA certificate and was a loving caregiver to several people including her own Mother. She cared for every one of them with loving compassion as if they were her own family. Everyone loved her cooking!
She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and regularly spoiled them with home cooked foods and gifts, especially at the holidays.
She left this earth peacefully with her daughters by her side straight into the arms of her beloved Sug.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sug and his family, whom she loved as her own, daughter Janice Williams, grandsons Cody Drennan and Josh Piggee, great grandson Jaylen Piggee, and all her siblings and their spouses.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 1 st at 10:00 am at New Hope Church of God with Rev. Robert Peterson and Rev. Nathan Gauwitz officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. An evening visitation will take place at Craddock Funeral Home on Monday, January 31 st from 6:00-7:00 pm.
She is survived by her daughter Darla Stephens and her husband Scott, daughter Cheri and her husband Shannon. The family would like to send a special thank you to Cross Timbers Hospice and Wilson Nursing Center for their compassionate care during her final days.
