Obituary

Hollis Kerley was born May 18, 1949 to Wanda (Marshall) and Raymond Kerley in Waurika, OK. He passed from this life on June 12, 2022 at the age of 73.

Hollis was a 1967 graduate of Turner High School.  Upon graduation he was drafted into the United States Army where he received three purple hearts during the Vietnam War. After his military service he returned home and soon married the love of his life Kathy Jones on June 12, 1971 and were married for 51 years. From this marriage they had two children, Michael and Walter. Hollis worked at Uniroyal Tire Company for 22 years and then started HK Construction Company. He was a skilled carpenter, building many homes around the area, and remodeled the historic Tucker's Tower with his two sons. Hollis was a very giving and generous man, he was always willing to help anyone in need.  He was the hardest working man you will ever meet and he was "tough as a boot".

Hollis was a part of the Lonely Platoon Co and he looked forward to going to the reunions every year. He enjoyed passing down his knowledge of carpentry to his kids, grandkids, nephews and nieces. He loved working with his cows, spending time with his grandkids and family and spending time at the lake. If you have never been pulled on a tube by Hollis Kerley, you haven't lived.

Hollis was preceded in death by his parents Wanda and Raymond Kerley; and siblings Charlie Kerley, Joyce Lee, Billy Kerley, Jimmy Kerley, Trisha Thomason, Jackie Kerley, and Stevie Kerley.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Kerley; sons Michael Kerley and Walter Kerley and his wife Shanna; brothers Frank Kerley and his wife Jan and Rickey Kerley and his wife Becky; sister Stella Bayless and husband Doyle; sister-in-laws Pam Kerley, Linda Kerley and brother-in-law JW Lee; grandchildren Shaylea Norman and her husband Colby, Deaven Kerley, and Zoey Kerley; and great grandchildren Bryson and Maelea Norman.
