Obituary

Jack Aron Ground was born May 8, 1987 in Austin, TX the second child of Ted Ground, Keller, TX and Kate Berger, Kingston, GA. He died peacefully at home on February 27, 2024.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7 from 5-7pm at Craddock Funeral Home, Ardmore, OK. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am Friday, March 8, 2024 at Bomar Point Cemetery, Wilson, OK.

Named for his paternal grandfather, Jack Ground, and his maternal grandfather, Stuart Aronson, Jack grew up in the San Marcos and Martindale, TX areas. He was homeschooled and attended San Marcos Co-op classes, graduating in 2005. Jack continued his education with college and computer programming classes in San Marcos and one year at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, Redding, CA. He was a member of Hill Country Church, where as a young man Jack led college home church groups and traveled extensively on mission trips around the world. Jack especially carried the people of Ukraine, where he had served, and Russia, where he had never traveled, in his heart. Jack was musically talented, proficient in five instruments. Around age 4, Ted remembers Jack picking up a tennis racket like a guitar and pretending to strum along as Ted practiced. He got his first guitar as a teenager. Jack also enjoyed audio mixing and singing.

A Fourth of July first date was the beginning of two years of getting to know Whitney Fagala before they married on October 7, 2017 in Ardmore, OK. Together they enjoyed spending time traveling, camping out, and exploring great food. Jack's favorite food was Indian cuisine, which he prepared for their rehearsal dinner guests and family. They explored northern California, looked forward to intimate gatherings with family and friends, and fiercely guarded their Christmases together. In 2019 Jack and Whitney traveled to Ireland with friends. Most recently, they were looking forward to relocating in Oklahoma.

Jack is survived by his wife, Whitney, of the home, his parents, Ted Ground, Keller, TX and Kate Berger and husband John, Kingston, GA, three sisters, Hannah Ground and husband Christian Davila, Buda, TX and children Abby, Ellie, Caroline, and Ty Herman, Emily Pena and husband Joseph, San Marcos, TX, Laura Ground, Homer, AK, brother-in-law, Peter Herman, San Marcos, TX, cousins and extended family.
