No services ae planned for Well-known writer and former District Attorney James A. Clark, who died on the 19 of March 2023 at the age of 81.

James married the former Cheryl S. Forbes of Sulphur in April 1983, who survives him. No children were born as a result of this marriage, but James adopted the middle child of Cheryl, Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Clark, who survives him.

James was preceded in death by his beloved son, Mark Alan, on August 5, 2021. James also adopted a grandson, David B Jordan, Jr., who survives him.  Also surviving, James is a son, Michael J. Clark, and his wife, Teri of Torrance, California, and a daughter, Karla Kay Clark of Duncanville, Texas.

Also, Surviving James are beloved grandsons and granddaughters, namely Brinton Foster, Ande Grace Foster, and Natalie Hope Foster, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and their mother Jaye Forbes-Foster and her sister, Stephanie Forbes-Jordan, both of Ardmore. Also, Taylor Elizabeth Clark and Catherine Clark of Tulsa and Kansas City, Missouri, respectively.

James lived a full and enjoyable life in Ardmore for over 60 years. He said of his adopted hometown: "I have spoken many times of my deep and abiding affection for the wonderful city of Ardmore, where I have lived with profound joy for more than six decades. I sincerely hope that my legal acumen that I've freely shared as well as my life experiences, will enhance my legacy."

James was an avid writer, having written and published three well-received books, "Reflections on a Time-Growing Up in Southeast Oklahoma"; "A Journey Through The Life of a Lawyer: and "The Scales of Justice."  In addition to books, James authored numerous pamphlets on various subjects, which likewise were well received.

James was also an avid reader, having read over 5,000 fiction and non-fiction books during his life.  He was also a well-known contributor to Facebook, having contributed numerous stories and experiences on that social medium.

James has requested no services as a result of his death and has chosen to be cremated by Craddock Funeral Home, with an urn of his ashes being delivered to his beloved daughter, Karla Kay Clark, to be spread around her pool in Duncanville, Texas, where he spent many pleasurable hours visiting with his daughter.
