James Donald Lewis
Services for James Donald Lewis 81, of Wilson will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore, OK with Rev. David Daniel officiating with Mike Williams assisting. Interment will follow at the Lewis family Cemetery in Wilson. A night visitation for family and friends will be from 7:30 – 9 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
James Donald Lewis was born on September 21, 1937 to William Hobart Lewis and Samantha Elizabeth (Morrow) Lewis at home in Sasakwa, OK. He departed this life at 81 years old on March 13, 2019 at his home in Wilson, OK.
He was president of J.D. Lewis Construction Company and a long time supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners. He loved hunting, fishing, the Cleveland Indians and riding in the pasture. JD was a 32nd degree Mason and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
JD was preceded in death by his parents, William and Samantha; brother, Bill Lewis; sisters, June Hulstine, Betty Jo Lewis, Jacqueline Ledgerwood and Joy Wyatt.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; son, Bart Lewis and wife, Tammy of Ardmore, OK; daughter, Lisa Dillard and husband, Terry of Pauls Valley, OK; Step-son, Brian McGahey and wife, Nikki of Ringling, OK; Step-daughter, Shae Canterbury and husband, Kevin of McKinney, TX; Grandchildren, Jessica, JD and Will Lewis of Ardmore, OK, Joseph Harris, Wayne Harris both of Ardmore, OK, Taylor Miller and husband, Cody of Wynnewood, OK, Britann, Kage and Kanyon McGahey of Ringling, OK, Rhys and Briggs Canterbury of McKinney, TX; Great-granddaughter, Emerson Miller of Wynnewood, OK; Sister-in-law, Mildred Lewis of Broken Arrow, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donald Holleman, Paul Wroten, Dr. G.W. Clay, Fred Tayar, John Hoefer and Terry Dillard.
