Memorial Services for Janie Kay Cox will be held at 10:00 am Friday, December 12, 2025, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel. A private inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Janie Kay was born Friday July 31, 1953, in Chowchilla, California to Eual Woodrow and LaMeda (Patton) Burris and died Wednesday December 3, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Janie Kay had worked at Wal-Mart for 18 years as a cashier.

Janie Kay is preceded in death by her great grandson, Kasch Donnie Ray Cogburn, brother, Julian Burris and a sister, Gayle Rowley. She is survived by her children, Stacey & Vanessa, Steven, Kelly & Jason; grandchildren, Gage (who she raised), Alex, Hailey, Kelsi, Haley, Kenzie and Jessey. She was Gigi to Shiloh, Jaylee, Jess, Sir, Taylor, Olive, Noah, Samuel, Hayden, Mason, and Keligh; siblings, Terry Burris, Ellen Burris Huffaker, and Butch Richards. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who were like family who loved her dearly and will be so missed.
