Graveside services for Jeannean Sands will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday November 14, 2024, at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma with Reverend Bruce Kirby officiating. Family visitation will be Wednesday evening November 13, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Craddock Funeral Home.
Jeannean was born Tuesday June 21, 1938, in Milburn, Oklahoma to Arnold Liffie and Nellie Mae (Short) Horton and died Friday November 8, 2024, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 18 days.
Jeannean obtained an associate's degree from Murray State College and graduated from the Oklahoma School of Banking. During her lifetime she worked at many occupations including being a Beautician, manager and night auditor at several local hotels and worked as an Auditor for the State of Oklahoma at Quartz Mountain and Lake Murray State Parks. She also worked for the Ardmore Main Street Authority and the local Red Cross. Her hobbies included artwork working with oils, pastel and charcoal. She enjoyed traveling, doing genealogy, and preparing Holiday Dinners. She gave of her time to many groups and charities throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Nedham Warren; husbands, Clyde Bob Sands, Donald Ivie; stepchildren, Richard Don Ivie, Linda Barston; sisters, Zelma Arlene Whittenburg, Martha Belle Riddles, Dorothy Nell Eaton; brother, Thomas Wayne Warren; nephews, Arnold McBee, and Thomas Richardson.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Ray Sands Sr. and his wife Marilyn of Ardmore, Oklahoma; stepchildren, Roger Ivie and his wife Dian; grandson, Johnny Ray Sands II and his wife Heather; great grandchildren, Luwinda Rain Sue Sands, Johnny Ray Sands III, Jedediah Wayne Sands and Presley Elaine Sands; niece, Debra Lucretia Gilbreath; nephews, Jackie Drennan, Bryant Warren and his wife Michelle LaBrake Warren.
