A funeral mass for Jimmy "Doyle" Whitener, 74, of Ardmore will be Monday, January 6, 2020 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin Ratterman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be Sunday 7-8 PM at Craddock Funeral Home. Doyle was born December 11, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Frank Whitener and Lillon (Perkins) Whitener. He passed from this life on January 2, 2020 in Ardmore at the age of 74. He and Sherry Herdt were married on October 4, 1987 in Las Vegas. Doyle was a U.S. Army veteran and very proud of it. He always flew a flag in his yard in respect of the military and his country. He loved spending time with his family, and traveling with his wife Sherry. Doyle enjoyed old western shows on television, OU football and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Men's Club. He liked doing for others, volunteering his time at the soup kitchen, working with his hands, especially woodworking and online games on the computer. Doyle worked as a Fiberglass Technician for Beetle Plastics. He retired from there after 37 years of dedicated service.

Doyle was preceded in death by his father Frank Whitener, mother; Lillon Shirey, brother; Gerald Whitener, sisters; Delores Smith and Mary Lou Charles. He is survived by his wife Sherry of the home, sons; Jimmy Whitener, Jr. (Johnna) of Ardmore, Chris Hollenbeck (Gabby Guerra) of Plano, TX., Ryan Hollenbeck (Chelsea) of Ardmore, daughter; Angela Randolph (John) of Ardmore, brother; Don Whitener (Sharon) of Pearland, TX., sister; Sharon Parsons of Ardmore, two grandchildren;  J.R. Randolph of Del City, OK. and Mason Whitener of Ardmore along with numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mark Urbanosky, Earl McDonald, James Harris, Joe Harris, Mason Whitener, Damon Harris and Kenny Petz. Honorary bearers are John Herdt, Ray Harris, Bob Petz and Tom Wiles.
