Funeral services for Joan (Volino) Harper are scheduled for Saturday, April 1 ^st at 10:00 a.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bruce Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Joan Harper was born March 5, 1937 to Raeburn (Beesley) and Joe M. Volino in Ardmore, OK. She passed from this life on March 26, 2023 at the age of 86.

Joan attended Dickson Public Schools were she was Valedictorian in the class of 1955.  On June 15, 1955 she married Bob Harper at the Southwest Baptist Church in Ardmore. Joan began working at Exchange National Bank in 1966 and served as Vice President of Marketing until her retirement in 1997. In 1983 she graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelors Degree in Administration of Bank Operations, becoming a first generation college graduate. In 1990 Joan obtained another degree from the University of Colorado in Bank Marketing and Advertising. She was also actively involved in the Ardmore Kiwanis Club. Joan was the first female member as well and the first female to serve as President in 1987. With her hard work and business mind she accomplished many other accolades including Athena Business Woman of the Year, Business Woman of the Year in American Business Woman, Retired Career Business Women and Community Volunteer, and was honored in 1991 by Governor David Walters, Major General Tommy G. Alsip, and The Thunderbirds for her role in organizing Operation Homecoming for the 1345 ^th Transportation Company, which was later declared the Best Homecoming in Oklahoma. Joan also served as grand marshal of the Southern Oklahoma Christmas Parade and was an Ardmore Leadership Alumni.

Joan was an avid fan of the Plainview Indians. This dedication began with Bob's basketball teams and continued with Kelly and Jessie's track and cross country teams. She was a tremendous cook and specialized in cakes and pies. Joan had a love for traveling and was able to take many trips throughout the United States and other countries. Some of her favorite adventures included a trip to Puerto Rico with her sister-in-law Oleta and a week long stay in Italy with Jessie. Joan also had a love for the Lord and served Him in many ways. She was a large part of the success of the Tuesday Morning Bible Study at the First Baptist church, serving as a mentor and teacher. Most of all, Joan loved her family and spent as much time as she could with them.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Raeburn Volino; brother Carroll Gene Volino; and granddaughter Candace (Harper) Hice.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bob Harper; daughter Kelly Gordon of Ardmore; son Chris Harper of Ardmore; and granddaughter Jessie Rae (Gordon) Gross of Tulsa; and great-grandchildren Allie Hice, Maddie Hice, Addie Hice, Rubie Rae Gross, Eva Mae Gross, Colin David Gross, and Rae Harper McGill.

Steve Volino, Vince Volino, Danny Turner, Fred Fitch, Eric Gross, and Chris Harper will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary bearers are Joe McAdams, Don Buck, and Harrell Kennedy.
