Joy was a graduate of Morris Hills Regional High School where she met Robert Pfau. They were married on October 10, 1964, in Rockaway, NJ. They had 3 children, Susan, David, and Doug. She worked all the years of her life with some of her favorite jobs being United Methodist Children's Home and Activity Director at Ardmore Village. She was a member of Kairos Prison ministry and the HCE Triangle group. She stood up for injustice wherever she perceived it and was always ready with a smile and a warm hug.
