Joyce Hunter Payne
Services for Joyce Hunter Payne will be Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Black officiating. Interment will be at Lone Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home.
Joyce was born September 21, 1928 in Milo, Oklahoma to John Hunter and Ada Jane (Jordan) Hunter. She passed from this life on September 30, 2018 in Ardmore at the age of 90.
Joyce graduated from Rexroat High School then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she completed her Master's Degree in Education. She and Ralph met while in college and later married in 1948 and had been married for 46 years before he preceded her in death in 1994.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lone Grove, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Carter County Retired Teachers.
Joyce retired from Lone Grove Public School after teaching there for 30+ years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball and Texas Rangers Baseball. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ada Hunter; husband, Ralph Payne; Grandchildren, Kevin Scott Landgraf and Logan Warner Smith.
She is survived by her children, Janice (Payne) and Scott Landgraf of Madill, OK; Mary (Payne) Smith of Ardmore, OK; Rick Payne of Lone Grove, OK; Grandchildren, Jeff and Stacy Landgraf of Madill, OK; Wes and Mendi Landgraf of OKC, OK; Justin and Tara Landgraf of Ardmore, OK; Stacy (Payne) and Tony Reed of Thackerville, OK; Lyndsey (Smith) and Andrew McKillip of Morton, IL; Great-grandchildren, Seth, Tate and Tori Reed of Thackerville, OK; Lydia and Lauren Landgraf of Madill, OK; Olivia Landgraf and Tarah Collins of OKC, OK; Blair and Kennedy Landgraf of Ardmore, OK and numerous other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Jeff Landgraf, Wes Landgraf, Justin Landgraf, Tony Reed, Seth Reed and Tate Reed.
