Karren Joyce Raney was born September 15, 1941 to Dorothy Mae (Leslie) Brown and Shirley Ivan Brown in Springfield, IL. She passed from this life on April 8, 2026, at the age of 84.

Karren was a graduate of Cushing High School in the class of 1959, where she was a member of the marching band playing the flute. Upon graduation, she attended Houston Medical College and received an Associate’s degree as a X-Ray / Lab Technician. Karren married Bobby (Bo) Neil Raney on July 3, 1961, in Houston, TX.

After living in California, they made their home in Ardmore where she began working as a Lab Technician for Drs. Patzkowsky and Turrentine for over 30 years. After her retirement, she began working for Ardmore City Schools in the transportation department. Karren and Bo were long time members of the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ.

Karren loved gardening, as long as she could get her hands in dirt, she was happy, and was an avid reader, loving all types of books, but her favorite were murder mysteries. She also loved hiking in the Rio Grande Mountains with her dog Paris, having lived in Colorado for 3 years.

Karren was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Dorothy Brown; husband Bo Raney; son Bobby Neil Raney; brothers Charles, Jackie and Don Brown; and sisters Dorothy Arthur and Darla Brown.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dorlisa and Jeff of Ardmore; sister Cheryl Hubbard and her husband Jim of Mesquite; and sister-in-law Janice Raney of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Kirby officiating.
