Services for Kathleen Beckel will be Friday, February 11, 2011 2:00 P.M. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Beckel was born August 17, 1922 in Gibson, Tenn. to George E. and Connie James Martin. She passed away on February 8, 2011 in Ardmore at the age of 88. One of nine children, all whom preceded her in death. She was married to Henry F. Beckel February 6, 1946. He preceded her in death May 24, 1987. She was also preceded in death by an infant son David Franklin Beckel on June 18, 1955 in Oklahoma City. and a special granddaughter Kristi Kathleen Beckel in 1999. Mrs. Beckel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ardmore which was a big part of her life. She was active in Faith, Hope, and Love Sunday School Class,and Young at Hearts at the church. She was also a member of Mattie Bruce Chapter Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron in 1975 and 1995, chaplain for her chapter for a number of years, and served on various state committees as Grand Representative of Oregon in 1985-1986 and Nevada in 1994-1995. Mrs. Beckel is survived by her son Bob Beckel and his wife Debbie of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter Kathy Meyer and her husband Kenneth of Temple, OK; granddaughter Kim Murillo and her husband Joe of Ft. Worth, TX; grandson Dusty Meyer of OKC, OK; 3 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She loved doing for others, but most of all she loved cooking for her children and grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Walter McAnally, Bill Coleman, Gene Johnson, Glen Jenkins, Emmett Hudgins, James McElroy. Honorary bearers are Dave McCullers, and D. Allen Wint. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund 225 1st Ave. SW Ardmore, OK 73401.
