Katie Murel Garrison was born June 11, 1920 to Amanda Bell (Singleton) and Jesse Talkington.
She passed from this life on April 19, 2022, just a little over a month shy of her 102 birthday.
Katie was born in a tent in Dougherty, OK. She then went on to grow up in Sulphur.
Katie married Evert (Mutt) Garrison on October 31, 1943. They moved to Mill Creek, OK, attended and became members of Baum Assembly of God.
She lost the love of her life when he was only 42 years old. She went on to work at American Flyers and Dickson School as a custodian to provide for her family.
In her younger days, Katie enjoyed traveling with family and friends. In her free time she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Amanda and Jessie Talkington; husband, Mutt Garrison; 9 siblings; and great granddaughter, Bradi Lanae Hartman.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Trubenbach, sons, Delbert Garrison, Don Garrison and wife, Lynda, Gale Garrison and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Debbie and husband, Scott Davis, Rhonda and husband, Michael Bond, Dawn and husband, Robert Pierce, Chrissy and husband, Joe Locke, Brandi and husband, Tommy Hawkins, Michael Greer, Michael Don Garrison and wife, Kim, Terry Garrison and wife, Crystal; 18 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, April 22

, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Mill Creek Cemetery with Brother Buck Buchanan officiating.
Michael Bond, Scott Davis, Michael Don Garrison, Terry Garrison, Joe Locke, Jacobi Berry, Khris Muse, Robert Pierce will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Cross Timber's Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they provided endlessly. We could not have made this journey without you.
We find peace in knowing she is in heaven rejoicing with the love of her life she has missed for 57 years.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cross Timbers Hospice.
