Obituary

Funeral Services for Lavern Sue Davis will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with David Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Craddock Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery with Wes Davis, Layne Davis, Brady Davis, Anthony Castloo, AJ Castloo and Roy Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Farve, Mike Leibrock, Tony Jones, Greg Shockley, Bob Shockley, Johnny Jackson, Chuck Castloo and Joe Burke.

Lavern was born Wednesday September 15, 1948, in Lone Grove, Oklahoma to Harl and Talitha (Austin) Jones and died Friday January 31, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 16 days.

Lavern was a proud graduate of Plainview High School, Class of 1967. After graduating, she moved to Reno, Nevada, for a brief period to work with her sister, Minnie Pearl. After her time in Reno, Lavern returned to Ardmore, Oklahoma, where she married the love of her life, Jimmy Davis, on September 11, 1967. She cherished her family deeply and was known for preparing the best holiday meals, always striving to bring everyone together. Lavern was also an incredible interior designer, impressing her family and friends with her creative ideas for her home. In addition, she loved spending time outdoors, nurturing her beautiful flower beds. Lavern was an amazing friend to so many people. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was always the life of the party!

Lavern is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl Jones, Louis Jones, Kenneth Jones, Dale Jones, Elmer Leroy Jones; sisters, Lenora McCullough, and Minne Marshall.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Davis of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sister, Virginia Carney of Denton, Texas; children, Sean Davis and his wife Veronica of Dallas, Texas, Dale Davis and partner Darla Myrow of Davis, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Wes Davis and his wife Tate, Abby Guinn, Katelyn Edmonds, Emily Davis, Layne Davis, Brady Davis; favorite great grandchild, Brett Davis and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved spending time with on many special trips and occasions.
