Obituary

Services for Rev. Leo Preston Potts are scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 am in Crystal Rock Cathedral in Ardmore, OK with Bishop Richard Talley officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Grove West Cemetery. The family will hold a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Craddock Funeral Home.

Leo was born March 20, 1941 in Binger, OK to Woodrow and Pauline (Berry) Potts. He passed this life on April 5, 2021 in a Denton, TX hospital.

He graduated from Lone Gove High School. He and Betty Howard married on February 27, 1960. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2012. He remarried Carol Morgan VanSickle on October 11, 2014 in Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

Leo studied Theology at the International Seminary in Plymouth, Florida in 1990. Leo worked for the Lone Grove Street Department for 6 years and served as Fire Chief for Lone Grove for 25 years. He has served his community for over 54 years as a Pentecostal Church of God minister and PYPA president for 8 years.

Serving as pallbearers will be Leo's grandchildren, Levi Smothers, Brian, Byron, Nikki, Gage and Kaden Reed and Charles VanSickle.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; daughter, Teresa Smothers of Lone Grove, OK; son, Larry Allen Reed of Wilson, Ok; brother, Clyde Franklin Potts of Ardmore, OK; grandchildren, Levi Smothers, Brian Reed, Nikki Reed, Byron Reed; great-grandchildren, Gage, Kaden, Matthew and Blake. He is also survived by Carol's children, Gina and her spouse, John Faulkner, Charles VanSickle and spouse, Rhonda; g randchildren, Dylan S. Kelly, Merissa Kelly, D.O., Raygan VanSickle and Salena Kelly; great-grandchild, Emersyn Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Pauline Potts; wife, Betty Potts; brothers, James Wayne Potts and Woodrow Paul Potts.
