Leon C. Nix

Funeral services will for Leon C. Nix will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 10:00 AM at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Russell officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Lone Cedar Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening from 6-7 PM at the funeral home. Leon was born August 18, 1944 in Ada, Oklahoma to Leon A. Nix and Georgia Vester (Curlee) Nix. He passed from this life on January 27, 2019 in Ardmore at the age of 74. He and Ronda Gayle were married December of 1967 in Ada, Oklahoma. She has preceded him in death. Leon was retired from the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, Indian arts and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Georgia ; wife Ronda; son Jeremy Nix and precious dog Charlie.

Leon is survived by his daughters Kelly Hitt and husband Robert of Ardmore, Stacy Potter and husband Brad of Mannsville, OK.; daughter-in-law Amanda Nix of Edmond, OK.; sister-in-law Karen Comes of Tallahassee, Florida and three grandchildren Collin Potter, Caden Potter and Riley Nix.

Pallbearers will be Larry Wheeler, Doug Smith, Rocky Anderson, Ronnie Reynolds, Randall Jolley, Dwight Oaks, Andy Jones and Francisco (Chico) Vasquez. Honorary bearers are his Ardmore Veterans Center buddies and staff. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ardmore Veterans Center Benefit Fund.
