Obituary

Leonard "Calvin" Eubanks born June 15, 1937. The answer to our question "What will you plant in your garden this year?" will go unanswered; while the soil has been prepared it will go unplanted.  Calvin passed away at his family home early Wednesday morning January 30, 2019.

Family will welcome visitation to celebrate Calvin's life at the Family home Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

A private graveside memorial will be held at a later date.

Calvin was a long time resident of Ardmore where he owned and operated Eubanks Custom Carpet Service for many years. He retired from oil field work in 2002.  His family and work life was embedded in Ardmore, Oklahoma untold hours on Lake Murray and Lake Texoma, teaching his children and family the joy of water skiing, tent camping, how to be brave, and stand on their own, as well as the sheer joy of riding in the bed of a pick-up on a country road. He instilled a work ethic, love commitment to family and community in his children that surpasses none other.

He enjoyed cars, woodwork and gardening, he always had a huge garden that he meticulously tended and was happy to share his planting and gardening advice and harvest with family, neighbors and friends.  Calvin was always quick to point out when you were planning or harvesting your own crops incorrectly.  The family home was always open to relatives, friends and neighbors in need of advice (sometimes un-solicited) a place to stay short term or long term.  And yes, there were reasons we always encouraged everyone to avoid the political debate.  We will all long for those conversations about gardening, cars and yes, the unsolicited advice and harsh political debates.

Calvin is survived by his four children, Ricky Eubanks and Jackie Underwood Eubanks of Ardmore, OK; Belinda Eubanks Stephens and Perry Mike Stephens, of Sulphur, OK.

Five grandchildren, Dirk Eubanks of Ardmore, Justin Eubanks and Jacey Eubanks of Ardmore, Heather Stephens Clark and Chris Clark of Yukon.

Eight great grandchildren, Parker, River, Dalton, Isabella, Tyler, Christopher, Hannah, and Oliver;
