Loyce Ethel (Hixon) Burden was born October 31,1956 to Ethel (Thompson) Hixon and James Hixon in Waltham, Massachusetts. She passed from this life on July 16, 2022 at the age of 65.

Loyce was a cheerleader at Dickson High School, graduating in 1975. After high school she attended Murray State College where she worked on the college newspaper. She spent the majority of her professional career working in retail with over fifteen years at Lowe's Home Improvement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ardmore, a retired Sunday school teacher and a longtime volunteer for CASA.  Loyce's hobbies included antiquing, listening to live music, reading, watching old movies and visiting the salon for mani/pedi's. In her free time she enjoyed having lunch with close friends, picking out special treasures for her grandchildren/great-grandchildren and sharing stories of her family with everyone.

Loyce was preceded in death by her parents as well as siblings, Jimmy Hixon, Carolyn Sue Sonny Allen, Eddie Hixon and grandsons Nathan McElhiney and Nate Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Collins and husband Noel, Amy England-Smith and husband Jeremy, and Sara Ashley England and fiancé Mike Swanson, grandchildren, Blake Hoke and wife Bailey, Brooklyn Lucas, Kileigh Mendoza and husband Bryan, Brody Smith, Kristen Collins, and Blakely Smith, great-children, Emree Hoke, Camden Hoke and Nikoly Mendoza, sisters, Sally Parker, Becky Broughton, Tammye Wolf, and brother Bobby Hixon as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

At her request, Loyce will be cremated with her ashes being spread in a place she held dear to her heart. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
