Obituary

Marda Lamona Bone was born October 14, 1927 to James Keith and Clifford Walker Shipman in Abner, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on September 13, 2023 at the age of 95.

Lamona graduated from Abner High School in the class of 1946.  As a girl Lamona learned to love the game of basketball. She was given the nickname "Rabbit" because she was small and fast on the court.

She married Burl Bone on April 26, 1947 and made a home with him in Abner, Oklahoma. Lamona helped her husband in establishing the family business "Burl Bone Propane" in addition to mothering three beautiful children.

She had one of the biggest hearts that she shared with so many. She was the main caretaker for her father, mother, children and husband. She always put everyone else's needs above her own and never left their side when in need.

Lamona was known for her excellent taste in fashion. Lamona always had her nails polished and would visit her best friend Oma Ruth who kept her hair looking perfect for years. And if you knew her, the more glitter the better!

Lamona always had a passion for the University of Oklahoma athletic program and was one of their biggest fans. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and going to OU women's basketball games with her friends Bobby and Joyce.

Lamona was also known for her home cooking and if you ever had her cherry cheese pie, banana pudding or hand pies you were lucky!

Lamona's greatest joy in life was her family, you could tell by the smile on her face and the twinkle in her eye that she was in heaven anytime they were near.

Lamona was preceded in death by her parents James and Clifford Shipman; husband Burl Bone; daughter Marsha Jan Bone; granddaughter Cassie Bone; sister Winona Younger; and nephew Craig Younger.

She is survived by her son Richard Bone and his wife Tracey; daughter Lisa Noland and her husband Jeff; grandchildren Kristyn Noland, Kacey Irlando and her husband David, Hayley Bone, Alexandra Walker and her husband Scott, Ashlyn Bone and Cariann Bone; great-grandchildren Rhett and Cooper Norrell and twin great granddaughters Ava and Mia Irlando.
