Mary Christene Burchett, known to all as "Chris," was born August 18, 1933, to Della Mae and Calvin D. Kent of Milburn, Oklahoma. She passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 8, 2024, at the age of 90.

Chris grew up on the "12-Mile Prairie" in southeast Oklahoma and graduated from Nida High School in the class of 1952. She was active in basketball, softball and shared many fun times with friends. On December 21, 1951, she and Johnnie Burchett were married in Durant, Oklahoma. They made their home in Ardmore where they raised their four daughters, Latricia, Anita, Johnna, and Christi. While her passion was being a wife and mother, she also dedicated years of work service to the Arthritis Clinic in Ardmore where she retired. Chris loved sewing the right outfits for each daughter and stretching the family's resources to make wonderful meals for her family of six. After moving to their dream property near Lake Murray, Chris and Johnnie enjoyed sharing their passion for gardening and canning. Faith was the foundation for their lives. They made the First Baptist Church in Ardmore their church home, where they served in Sunday School, Baptismal Committee, Keenage Choir, and Food Pantry. Chris also loved traveling with Johnnie and friends on many trips. She delighted in her ever-expanding family knowing the love she and Johnnie began 72 years ago will continue. For those of us who knew and loved her, this is her legacy.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin, and Della Mae Kent: by her husband, Johnnie; siblings, Melvin, Wyndol, Lahoma, Arvella, Jerry, and Jeannie; infant daughter Annette Joan. She is survived by her daughters Latricia Miller of San Antonio, Texas; Anita Chaney of Saginaw, Texas; Johnna Cathey and husband Craig of Verdigris, Oklahoma; and Christi Smith and husband Ron of Owasso, Oklahoma; grandchildren Erin Hamilton and husband Cory; Kyle Chaney and wife Jaime; Rick Miller and wife, Brittani; Jared Cathey and Hilary Carden; Collin Smith and wife Fiona; Caitlin Bundy and husband Dylan; and great grandchildren, Lyla, Emery, Adelynn, Bryson, Jocelyn, Cainan, Cali, Caia and Koda.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00, Friday, May 17 at the Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Ardmore, with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Chris's Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
